About client and challenges

Client is a leading music distribution company from the US. Every month they are onboarding thousands of artists all over the world, helping them publish their songs on popular streaming platforms like Spotify, Wynk, and 150+ social platform and paid stores.

They have multiple plans and every typical day for them involves many new customers joining their platform, migrating from free to paid plans, upgrading to high-levels, and so on.

With new leads walking in from all directions, they felt the need for a one-stop dashboard. Excel reports took all day to be prepared. On top of the clumsiness, it neither showed them trends in data nor alerted them in situations that cry for attention.

Along with legitimate artists, they also encounter leads created by bots. They needed to track this too, to be vigilant of legitimate customers and bots.

Solution from datakulture

Connecting multiple touchpoints, we built lead analysis reports, customized for each website, region, and stakeholder. The report answered the following questions.

  • How many new leads came in (for the selected period)

  • Which source did they come from and the region they are from.

  • Plans they signed up for

  • Published tracks and more.

They don’t just get to track numbers, but set targets and receive alerts when they don’t meet them. The dashboard also highlights the difference between the planned and unplanned new lead count.

The client highlighted how effective the email alerts are, as they could modify their acquisition strategy right away when things don’t go the expected way.

Other than alerts, knowing the channels and mediums work the best for a region, they could shift their focus to thrive on the momentum.

Another point to note is that we helped them achieve a unified view of data across different time zones and regions. This measure ensured consistency and data accuracy, despite having operations across different global regions.

Conclusion

New lead stats are crucial for any business with subscription-based plans. It brings the much-needed visibility into their business that spanned across multiple locations and helps them start with the right foot all the time.

By looking into the past, they could predict the future trajectory, both in terms of incoming leads and potential revenue. We built a customized dashboard and streamlined the entire process, which improved data literacy across their organization.
